October 22nd, 2007 Windows Live Writer

Okay so let’s try this. =D Hopefully it works!

If it does work, I’ll tell you guys all about it, ‘kay?

Hmm.. Let’s add some bolding and some emphasis.

Mmmmm, yummy! XHTML valid, baby! Isn’t that kick-ass?

Edit: Holy crap, it works like a dream! The only thing I can’t figure out is how to add tags with this…

I’m testing Windows Live Writer Beta 3 right now. =3 It lets you post to Wordpress blogs (among other very popular self-hosted blogs and blog services). It’s actually very neat.

XHTML, nice WYSIWYG.. And for WordPress-specifics, it lets me add Pages, comments on / off, pings on / off, etc etc.

I just can’t figure out how to be able to add the tags to my posts. I got used to that through the admin panel - excuse me, Dashboard.

Another neat feature-Let’s me view my blog / manage it through the Dashboard with a click on the program’s sidebar.

Windows users, this deserves a try.

Edit2: With a little bit of WordPress hacking, I’m now able to tag my posts. This program rocks my socks. Oh yeah, you can also install plugsin for the program as well. =D

Also found a nifty feature. I couldn’t find where to import my posts and Pages but it turns out I don’t have to. When you go to open a Post / Page you’ve saved via WLW, there’s a third option that you click and BOOM! It lists all the posts from your blog without having to download them.

This thing really, really made my day.

Here’s a screenie of Windows Live Writer!

Edit3: Okay so, I’m still feeling horrible over being “OMG I HEART THIS” with a program Mac users can’t enjoy (but seriously, this is one sexy program). So, being the nice person that I am, I decided to hunt an equivalent for you Mac users. =3

I’m not sure if it works as well or is as orgasmic as WLW (because I don’t have a Mac therefore I cannot say if it is better or not) but you might want to give it a shot, we can compare features or something. Wouldn’t that be neat?

Oh yeah, also found one that can work with the three major platforms, Windows, Mac and Linux. It’s the last one listed here, Bleezer. Just so I don’t feel evil for loving Windows and Mac people and leaving you awesome Linux peeps out.

I’m a fan of Ubuntu, you know.

So, here’s the bottom line:
Windows users - Windows Live Writer Beta 3
Mac users - Qumana
Linux / Mac / Windows - Bleezer

Let me know how these work for you guys, okay?
