For those of you close to me, it should be no shock that I do not own a cell phone. And if you are close to me and didn’t know this, yeah. I don’t have a cell phone. Not because I’m a loser with no friends to call, mind you. But because I do most of my communications online. That is to say I’m not a recluse or anything ;D
It’s an interesting thing, the internet. More and more people are relying on the awesome power of the interwebs in order to communicate more day-in and day-out, be it chatting to a colleague during work or just asking a friend where to meet you at the mall. It’s this simple, easy to use and quickness that’s made me stray from using a cell phone all these years But more importantly, kept me away from having to pay for one.
Ah yes, another bill. Yum. Who likes the taste of $30+ a month spent on a phone line? Do you? I couldn’t ever justify the cost of purchasing a decent cell phone and paying over thirty a month (I know people who pay much more) for the rest of your life. Not when I could contact people online, for free, and I could make better use of that money.
So why am I planning on purchasing a cell phone, then? It’s nice to hear your friends’ voices once in a while, you know? That brings up another point of mine, friends don’t call the home often because most of my friends are vampires (read: wake up late and party ‘till the morning) and that is a problem with my family. Mainly the mum. She goes to sleep very early, like the old lady she think she is.
Having a phone would make me more social. I could talk to people until the wee hours of the morning if I’d like. And with free texting, hello Twitter! So it wouldn’t be all bad =D
Besides, I enjoy techie stuff, I love electronics. So it would only make sense that I should spend money on something really geeky like a social gadget and claim it as a tool to communicate with others. Right? Right?
So I shall be getting a cell phone. Nothing special. But the plan is great. By the way, this isn’t my first cell phone either. But by the time the first cell phone broke, again, I couldn’t justify the cost of getting a new one and paying for the plan (that was expensive).
Oh yeah. Happy Independence Day! What do the fireworks look like where you are? And Happy Birthday, Dad. Even though you surely don’t deserve it.

Yeah, pretty much, I couldn’t live without my cellphone. I couldn’t live without Unlimited Txting :D
I can just imagine the kind of bill my parents would get if we didn’t have unlimited txting … Twitter alone would use up all of the allotted txt messages, let alone ones from friends. Crazyness.
Blah, Independence Day. Went to a party, it was pretty lame. We just watched a movie (Step Up) because that’s how lame it was. Epic fail. It’s my sister’s birthday, too! She turned 11 - but she acts 16. And the fireworks here are alright. They do them over the strip, so the hotels each try to best eachother and do cooler ones than everyone else… usually. For some reason, this year, there weren’t too many fireworks. But apparently the people across the street decided it’s a good time to blow all of theirs off… at 11:20 at night, when my family is gettin’ ready for bed.
Awesome.
