May 5th, 2008 I’m Pregnant

In my dreams, anyway. No, I’m not hoping to have a baby. It’s just that every month during that special time that Aunt Rosie comes by and breaks a pipe (dunno if anyone’s heard of that saying. I tried to find it online but no go. Mainly it’s a cute saying for “I have my period”) I have at least one pregnancy dream.

Aunt Rosie’s visit is still young and I’ve already had a pregnancy dream. I really don’t know what they mean but I’ve been having them for years. Could anyone share any insight?

Most of the time, my pregnancy-related dreams involve me being pregnant (obviously). They also involve an unknown father. And most but not all of the times I end up losing the baby in some fashion. There’s only one pregnancy dream I can remember where I actually kept the baby in question. At first these dreams freaked me out. I used to think it was my body telling me “Now that you have your period, go have babies!” and when the babies would die in my dreams I believed “If you have babies, they’ll die!”. So you can see why these are weird to me.

But after having them for so many years now I don’t pay much attention to any subconscious signs my body might be giving me to reproduce. After all this time I just think that when I’m asleep my body like to think my cramps are actually a baby kicking.

Dreams are weird. Oh by the way, I’m back from hiatus. Sweet.

7 Peaches to “I’m Pregnant”

  1. Cute and weird. I think it’s just your maternal instincts kicking in, definitely. Your body seems to be toying with the idea of reproduction because it’s what comes natural to all of us but you may be losing the dream babies because you’re subconsciously afraid of having an tragic pregnancy, perhaps? But I bet deep down you do want to have a baby, which might be why the dreams occur so frequent.
Anyway, don’t feel odd: I’ve had dreams with babies myself. I’ve never been pregnant, though, but I do find myself with a baby in my arms which eventually gets lost at some point in the dream. It just like, vanishes into thin air, literally. Weeeiiirrrd.
I love the Aunt Rosie breaks a pipe saying, btw. Much better than Aunt Flo.

  2. Wow, the title scared me for a minute!

I’ve never ever had dreams like that before! My most recent dream was about this girl being dragged by this boat underwater… now what do you think that means?!

I can’t really share any insight about it, but hopefully you find out the meaning of it soon. :)

  3. ah i had a heart attack D:
i don’t know how to explain ur dreams.. though that’s really odd how you only get them when your aunt rosie visits.. don’t look too into it, it’ll just stress you out necessarily~

  4. oh yeah, welcome baack :]
happyvenus seems to have some technical difficulties :/ but have you been spurting out creative sketches on ur tablet recently?!

  5. According to “Dream Secrets - Unlocking the Mystery of your Dreams”:

Pregnant: Dreams of pregnancy are a good omen that a new project or endeavor is coming after a period of incubation. See also baby and birth.

Baby: A baby indicates a new beginning. It may also mean innocence, purity, or potential for growth.

Birth: A birth is a new start in life. It represents fresh ideas. This is a good time to begin new projects.

    Hope this helps :D

  6. You’re not the only one! I often have dreams about pregnancy, babies, marriage, and sex mostly when I’m on my period, or about to get my period. It’s not unusual for this to happen. Our bodies are super hormonal at that time…we’re fertile beings and naturally, as females, babies are a topic that pop into our minds sometimes. Most of my dreams involve me being pregnant or carrying a baby around, or sometimes weird baby-related things happen. Like how you end up losing the baby in your dreams, my dreams sometimes involve totally WEIRD baby adventures…such as finding babies on a sidewalk and things like that. LOL. But no, you’re not alone! :)

  7. YAY you’re back!
oh wow your title scared me. no joke. i’ve never had a pregnancy dream.. so i guess.. it’s a lil odd lol. but i mean, when i see kids i’d be like “aww how cute. i want a kid..” Seems like everyone’s been really busy lately. hmm.
    anyway, glad you’re back!
