Whoohoo, I received my Wacom Bamboo tablet in the mail today. I must say, I’m really happy with it! I haven’t drawn in a very long time so my drawing skills are far less “pretty” than I would’ve liked or hoped. But eh. With the tablet comes practice and working on my skills!
To be honest I don’t even remember why I stopped drawing. I just know I did and for a very long time. I just didn’t want to draw anymore. But recently I’ve seen reviews on tablets and I thought this would be a great opportunity to start back up again.
A tablet is a pretty neat thing. My twin brother described it quite nicely earlier “Now you have infinite printer paper”. I used to use up like all of our printer paper for drawing, ha! But he’s right, I have unlimited “paper” now and a way to color my paper as well. I was very relieved to find out that Photoshop 7 supports tablets and pen pressure. I had no idea it would, to be honest. I was prepared to have to find some other program (or actually pay for Photoshop CS. no to CS2 or CS3) for my tablet + drawing needs.
I plan to use this tablet to draw my little heart out and have it help me with my web design too. I’m not sure how the web designing bit would work yet, but it works like a dream when it comes to drawing. I had a lot of fun with it earlier. But I haven’t seriously tried anything though, just practicing.
And of course, here are my attempts: Attempt #1 and Attempt #2
I’m no artist but I still have some bite in me. I have full hopes that I can improve in my skills. Any pointers? XD
The tablet works quite well. It’s a lot easier to use than I thought it would be. I especially love the fact that you can use it as a regular mouse for your computer. Now, I’m new to tablets and I don’t know if that’s common. But man. I love it.
Plus it’s gorgeous. Once I get a job I plan to save up for an iMac and then for an Intuos3 6×8. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this tablet. It’s quite lovely and I love the smallness. Hmmm.

Haha yeah, the Bamboo is definitely worthy of a review like this (=
And holy sh!t, I didn’t realize you were such a good drawer! Awesome skillz. I’ve had my tablet since October and couldn’t draw a stick figure to save my life. I guess I’m just more familiar with the pen tool XD
Yeah, you definitely need to save up and get an iMac. The 24″ is nice, but it’s kind of HUGE. The 20″ is a real nice size. And the tablet works super easily with the mac, and I think there’s even a program that turns your writing into type? Somewhere? Haven’t looked in to it, but maybe one day I will. XD

I always wanted a wacom tablet and never got one. lol. Seems like a good thing just to have.
Your attempts seem pretty sweet, and I think you should make a layout with the tablet. Just for fun, even if you only have it up for a week :)
And yeah get an iMac. lol. And they aren’t evil!

Ooh, neat tablet! For someone who hasn’t drawn in a while, you’re amazing! I love the eye in your first attempt.
I’ve been saving up for a MacBook for the longest time … I’m so looking forward to switching to Mac’s OS. I hate Windows, so much.
Good luck with the drawing, and saving up for all of those cool gadgets!

Oh wow, I wish I had one of those! I’ll get it one way or the other. But you really are a great artist. Ever thought of doing painting? You can get a real big kick out of that. I love painting myself, but I don’t know what to paint.
