I read this article at Wired and it’s made me think very differently about Apple and especially about Steve Jobs.
I love Apple’s OS and their computers. But Steve’s attitude towards his workers leaves me feeling hollow. Sure, it makes everyone work harder for something amazing, but at the same time hurts the workers’ feelings and has them feeling like they’ll be fired for sneezing.
Steve’s always been a funny guy in my eyes (funny as in weird) and I’ve always felt that the only thing going for him is his charisma. But this just makes me really dislike him as a person. I like his approach to speeches and presentations but blah.
Reading this article makes me think that Apple is the Evil and Microsoft is the Good.
Microsoft treats it’s workers well, likes publicity when people blog about them, Hell. They’ve taken an openness sort of approach to their products as well. They’re the exact opposite.
Yet I find myself wanting the “Evil’s” computer and OS more and more. How the Hell?
